Hello;
My name is Eileen Davidson and here is a little bio about my journey as a physiotherapist.
I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1981 with a Physiotherapy Diploma from Northumbria University.
I initially worked at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle gaining invaluable experience and building my knowledge base as a junior physio.
Following this moved into the the field of Adults with Learning Disabilities improving my skills in dealing with clients with multiple complex needs,aiming to maximise functional ability and encourage independence.
During this time I was a member of the National ACPPLD (Association of Physiotherapists for People with Learning Disabilities) I also, was instrumental in setting up the NE branch of the ACPPLD and was involved in organising the first ACPPLD National Conference.
During this time I also acted as an expert witness in this field.
In 1998 I decided that I would like a new challenge and changed specialties starting work in the field of Musculoskeletal and Domiciliary Physiotherapy for Northumbria Healthcare Trust.
I undertook further post-graduate training including Acupuncture, Manuel Therapy and gained a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine.
My work included GP MSK clinics and also Domiiciliary visits for those unable to attend a clinic setting.
I decieded to establish Home Physio 2 You as living in a rural area I was aware that it is often difficult for clients to access clinics and that providing a home service offerred care and privacy on a 1 to 1 basis in the home.
This allows an holistic approach to treatment as your surroundings can also be assessed as these do impact on your circumstances.
I am still after 38 years passionate about being a physiotherapist and aim to provide a professional but friendly and approachable service to my clients.
